Middle School to Host 'Taste of Holcomb Bridge' on Thursday

The school's annual event celebrates cultures from around the world.

How many different countries are in Africa? In which countries is French spoken? Find out the answers to these questions and more at the annual "Taste of Holcomb Bridge" event on Thursday, March 1 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

With the theme, “A Passport to the World,” families are invited to contribute a dish from their country of origin and celebrate the many different cultures represented in the Roswell, Alpharetta and Johns Creek area.

“I just love that we can celebrate so many different cultures in our own neighborhood,” said Principal Joy Schroerlucke. “We have over 34 countries represented at Holcomb Bridge Middle School alone. Who needs to travel when you can learn so much from each other right here?”

While all families in the community are invited, rising 6th grade families from , and schools are especially encouraged to attend.

“This was the first event we attended at Holcomb Bridge Middle School,” said Kim Thompson, one of the organizers. “It was a fun and relaxed way to spend time at the middle school before our oldest son started in the fall. It’s a great opportunity and a really fun evening!”

In addition to the food, live entertainment will be provided, including music and a cake walk. A cash-only bake sale will also take place to benefit the Holcomb Bridge Model United Nations (UN) team. 

Tickets can be purchased at the door only for $5 a person/$20 per family. Alternatively, free admission for five is provided to those families bringing a dish that will serve 16 or more. All proceeds from the event will go fund PTA-sponsored academic enrichment programs.
