The Fulton County School district is starting the spring semester virtually.

ROSWELL, GA — Students in Roswell who attend Fulton County Schools will begin the new year with remote learning due to the number of COVID-19 cases, according to a news release.

From Jan. 4 through Jan. 7 students will learn virtually. They will return to face-to-face instruction Monday, Jan. 10. The district is using Closing Matrix , therefore schools with positive COVID-19 cases equal to or greater than 1 percent of the student/staff population will continue with remote learning until the number of cases decrease.

  • Masks will be required in all FCS facilities Jan. 10 through Jan. 21.
  • Staff will report remotely on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 3 and 4, and report in-person beginning Wednesday, Jan. 5.

"We implore our community to do all they can to be safe," Fulton County school officials said in a statement. "We strongly encourage people to get vaccinated. Please follow public health guidelines and report any positive COVID-19 cases to the Parent or Employee portals."
