Rucker Road Reconstruction Project Groundbreaking On Jan. 24
Roswell's project would improve Rucker Road from Alpharetta's city limits to the Ga. 140/Houze Road intersection.

ROSWELL, GA — The long-awaited project to improve Rucker Road through the city of Roswell will kick off with a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 22. The ceremony is set to start at 2 p.m. at 12155 Houze Road in Alpharetta, Roswell said Tuesday.
The project calls for reconstructing Rucker Road from Alpharetta's city limits to the Ga. 140/Houze Road intersection in Roswell. Roswell's segment of the project will tie into Alpharetta's portion of the reconstruction, which began in October 2017. Crews will add a new center turn lane, as well as eight-foot multi-use trails on both sides of road and a three-foot bike shoulder.
Both cities are using the same contractor, CW Matthews, to perform the work. Roswell is funding its cost of the project, which is about $2.9 million, with funds from the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
