YMSL Centennial Deepens Community Impact Through Ongoing Service Supporting Homelessness and Food Insecurity

Roswell, Ga, December 3, 2025 - The Centennial Chapter of Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) has once again demonstrated their commitment to the North Fulton community through their annual Ultimate Gift program focusing on homelessness and food insecurity issues. Their recent fall service outreach projects support local nonprofit partners HomeStretch, Family Promise North Fulton/DeKalb, and The Sandwich Project.

“Volunteering is a way to build a better world through collective action right where we live,” said Christy Sniecinski, president of YMSL Centennial. “Since May, our chapter has given over 2,800 volunteer hours. More than 250 hours were concentrated on HomeStretch, Family Promise and The Sandwich Project with mothers and young men sharing skills to accomplish work the nonprofits could not do without capable volunteers.”

YMSL is a four-year program designed for mothers and their high school sons to serve together, strengthen relationships, and make a positive community impact. As part of the Ultimate Gift initiative, participants from Roswell, Johns Creek, and Alpharetta completed major landscape beautification projects at HomeStretch, a local nonprofit, and Sinclair House, under the nationwide Family Promise nonprofit, enhancing the Roswell properties located on high traffic streets where families in transition live and rebuild their lives. Volunteers also partnered with The Sandwich Project to prepare and donate hundreds of nutritious, homemade sandwiches to quickly meet food scarcity needs.

The Ultimate Gift projects showcase the ongoing commitment to serving alongside partners and the positive change that is achieved together. For both HomeStretch and Family Promise’s Sinclair House, YMSL Centennial volunteers installed large garden beds by clearing debris, tilling and amending dirt, planting over 100 perennial shrubs and flowers, and regular watering.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication YMSL Centennial volunteers bring to HomeStretch,” said Cheryl Carter, executive director of HomeStretch. “Their teamwork and energy not only beautified our campus, but also created a more welcoming environment for families rebuilding their lives. It is inspiring to see mothers and sons serve together and remind our residents that their community truly cares.”

HomeStretch’s mission is to empower working families through transformational support that fosters long-term economic independence. Family Promise builds community coalitions to help families facing homelessness access and utilize existing local resources. “The support from YMSL has been invaluable,” shared Andrea Brantley, executive director of Family Promise of North Fulton. “Their dedication and hard work to beautify Sinclair House makes a significant impact in the community we serve, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership.”

While the Ultimate Gift is one of the chapter’s hallmark events, community service is conducted by the members year-round. Members regularly serve in-person with local nonprofits on projects that primarily support children, seniors, and families in need. Together these efforts represent hundreds of volunteers dedicated to making a lasting difference across the community and foster compassionate service.

The Centennial Chapter remains steadfast in its mission to uplift others through service, compassion and connection, demonstrating that meaningful change happens when families serve together.
