Playable Art Park at Abernathy Greenway Coming Soon

Abernathy Greenway’s Playable Art Park is taking shape. Bricks arrive Tuesday for the 50-foot-long “Dragonfly” sculpture.

. More than 120 entries were submitted by international artists before six winners were named.

Along with “Dragonfly,” which features a dragon face and porthole eyes, climbing rope wings and slide; there’s “The Big Imagine,” a 65-foot long, 17-foot high swing set with 14 structural steel arches; and “Twist and Shout,” a 40-foot climbable stainless steel free-play fixture.

The entire project is a joint venture of Art Sandy Springs and Sandy Springs Conservancy.
