Police Shooting Injures 1 In Sandy Springs
Officers were responding to an assault call when the incident escalated, and a police shooting injured someone in Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A police shooting injured a person around 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of Dunwoody Place and Roswell Road, Sandy Springs Police said.
Officers responded to an assault call in the area, where police said they found a possible suspect.

While speaking with the person, police said the person pulled out a weapon on the officers and was shot. The injured person was then taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Around 11:15 a.m., police asked people to stay away from the area during the investigation.

The person's status was unknown early afternoon. SSPD detectives are investigating the incident.
