Ponies Found Wandering Neighborhood

The two Shetland Ponies were spotted nearby Sandy Springs at 1 a.m., Saturday night.

 

Sandy Springs near Chastain Park are likely familiar with sheep, but what about wandering ponies?

Two pet Shetland Ponies were found wandering West Conway Drive, near Mount Paran, loose from a nearby corral, at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

It was a surprise to residents Jim and Leigh Dunlap. After Fulton County Animal Control had been notified, Leigh hooked the gentle animals up to a dog leash and walked them into her fenced-in back yard for the night, according to an article by the AJC.

She then posted photos of the ponies on the The Mt. Paran-Northside Citizens Association website under the headline, "Found: Two Shetland ponies. (REALLY)."

The animals' caretaker saw the ad and picked them up — still safe and sound — later Saturday morning.
