Sandy Springs Parks & Rec Adopts $100M 20-Year Plan

The mayor hopes to balance city growth and park growth in a way that works for everyone.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The City of Sandy Springs adopted a 20-year $105 million Parks and Recreation Master Plan in a Feb. 19 meeting, according to a release from the city. Sandy Springs residents made up the advisory committee which worked with the city on the plan.

The plan guides the city in future capital and programming priorities over the next ten years, the release says. The total funding comes to $105,485,000.00.

“While we have added green space and parks to the community over our first 13 years as a city, it is important that we have a structure in place providing guidance to balance the growth of the city with protections and enhancements of the City’s parklands, including expansion of our park system. This Master Plan will give us the blueprint needed to plan and to optimize opportunities over the next ten years,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul, according to the release.
