Wednesday Public Meeting on Lost Corner Preserve

The meeting will be held from 5:30- 7 p.m., today at Sandy Springs City Hall. [A previous version of this story reported the meeting would be held on Thursday.]

 

Recreation and Parks director Ronnie Young will lead a public information meeting hosted by the City of Sandy Springs on the Lost Corner Preserve at 5:30 p.m., today.

The city, working with The Trust for Public Land, a national nonprofit land conservation organization, the Sandy Springs Conservancy and the Georgia Land Conservation Program, acquired the 22-acre site for conservation in 2008.

See Lost Corner: Another Sandy Springs Gem Thanks to Late Property Owner

This summer, The Georgia Department of Natural Resources awarded the city a grant to construct a trail at Lost Corner Preserve. In October, the city issued a Request for Proposals for stabilization of the Lost Corner House. The proposed design plans for the relocation of the entrance drive and the addition of a parking lot will be available for review.  

As of August, a total of $833,334 was raised to acquire the property.
