- Spruill Art Galley Reception. The event celebrates the "Student and Faculty Art Exhibition." Noon-3 p.m., Saturday. 4681 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
- Chattahoochee River Summer Splash. Paddle or drift on the river and then enjoy an afternoon of music, food, and family fun at the Powers Island festivities. 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday.Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area- Morgan Falls Dam to Powers Island.
- Children’s Yoga. A 45-minute yoga class for children ages 3 to 7-years-old is held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at You Yoga, Me Yoga 8745 Dunwoody Place, Sandy Springs.
- MJCCA Dive into Shabbat Outdoor Pool Party. The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta’s summer pool party starts with an open swim at 5 p.m., followed by Shabbat songs and blessings at 6 p.m., on Saturday. The free event is open to the community.
- Stage Door Players. The playhouse presents “Once Upon a Mattress.” It’s described on the website as follows: “If you thought you knew the story of ‘The Princess and The Pea’ you may be in for a big surprise! Containing a score of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this twisted spin on the familiar classic will make sure you never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.” Showtimes are 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday; 2:30 p.m., Sundays through Aug. 4.
- Capital City Opera. The company holding its annual fundraiser On the Light Side at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Church of the Atonement in Sandy Springs.
