  1. Chatham County Manager Lee Smith has been suspended with pay. The announcement was made by the 6th District County Commissioner Aaron Whitely. It is unclear why the county manager has been suspended, but initial reports indicate it is not related to Local Options Sales Tax negotiations. (WTOC)
  2. Savannah is celebrating National Picnic Month. Local companies are setting up a series of elaborate picnics at local parks, such as Forsyth Park, to celebrate.   3. Savannah VOICE Festival is presenting five different operas this August. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary season. The operas are produced by Savannah OPERA.
