3 GA Towns Are Among The Top 20+ Places To Celebrate Halloween
If you want to go hunting for zombies or gather some "witches" for a river float, visit one of these GA towns to observe All Hallows Eve.
When it comes to celebrating Halloween, small towns like Savannah are a great place to revel in the spooky season.
In her “20+ Best Small Towns for Celebrating Halloween,” HGTV’s Lynn Coulter says Savannah is “considered one of the most haunted cities in the country.”
Guests of the coastal town can be on the hunt for zombies or apparitions on the Blue Orb tour, visit the Bonaventure or Colonial Park cemeteries or embark on a “creepy pub crawl,” Coulter said.

Other Georgia towns that made the list were Macon and Athens.
The latter is more than football. Athens also has the 17th Annual Wild Rumpus Halloween Celebration, similar to Mardi Gras. The annual event will be held on Oct. 25 this year in downtown Athens and features costumes, dance parties, music and food.

Coulter said the Wild Rumpus has "been called one of the premier Halloween celebrations in the Southeast."
If Athens is not on your road map, the Witches Float in Macon may be. The event will be held on Oct. 26 at Amerson River Park. Other spooky things to do in Macon include the Spirits in October tour, and residents may stay at 1842 Inn.
"Macon is said to be the most haunted town in Georgia," Coulter said.
