Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

  1. Earlier this week, city leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Capital Bee Company on Broad Street, which is set to provide more than 130 Savannah households and businesses with high-speed internet. Over 30,000 locations in the city already have high-speed fiber internet. Mayor Van Johnson attended the event and said he is committed to seeing more Savannah communities gain access to high-speed internet. (WSAV)
  2. New video footage has emerged of the events that followed a fatal shooting last Thursday near the intersection of Duffy and Abercorn Streets. 24-year-old Tyrone Kinlaw was shot near a gas station and a Cuban restaurant, and a Ring doorbell from a nearby home shows the moments that immediately followed. A person runs toward the scene asking about his brother seconds before police arrive. Police have not yet made any arrests in the case. (WTOC)
  3. Citrus farmer Steven Cooler, the owner of Satsumas of Savannah, spoke to WSAV about the impact of recent rain on his crop. Cooler said he is concerned about erosion and root rot due to ground saturation. He explained that it can take three to five years before he sees a return on a citrus tree, so any tree that succumbs to mold or root rot is a substantial setback. (WSAV)
