Inland Chatham County Under Tropical Storm Warning

SAVANNAH, GA — Due to effects from Tropical Storm Nicole, inland Chatham County is under a tropical storm warning as of Wednesday morning.

Coastal Chatham, McIntosh, Liberty and Bryan counties remain under a storm surge watch, according to the National Weather Service's Charleston, South Carolina, office.

According to the National Hurricane Center, a dangerous storm surge along with damaging waves is forecast for parts of coastal Georgia and Florida's east coast Wednesday.

Tropical storm conditions are expected to move into Georgia Wednesday, according to the NHC.

Chatham County officials predicted Nicole's most significant threat to the area is potential coastal flooding, starting Wednesday morning with high tide.
