  1. Parents of Jenkins High School students received a message from the principal regarding a reported potential weapon at the school on Thursday. After a student reported seeing a weapon, the campus was placed on lockdown and campus police were called to search the premises. No weapon was found, and all students are safe. As a precaution, increased police presence continued at the school for the remainder of the day. (WJCL News Savannah)
  2. A Savannah man was charged with aggravated battery after biting off a "large portion" of his girlfriend's ear as a result of a fight the pair had outside of The Avenue Bar & Grill. According to the victim, who got a ride home, Jerome Milton arrived at the residence and punched her several times before biting off part of her ear. Milton was arrested, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The Pooler Police Department arrested 19-year-old Mikeal Wilds this week who was wanted for several crimes, including aggravated child molestation. The man was an event staff member in the Savannah-Chatham County School System at the time of his arrest. Police had initially pulled Wilds over for making an improper turn and discovered he had three outstanding warrants related to indecent purposes and child molestation upon running his name through their system.
