  1. The Savannah chapter president for the Racial Justice Network spoke about transparency concerns at a press conference in Johnson Square on Monday. Reverend Alan Mainor is concerned about the Savannah Police Department's hiring process — especially concerning the hiring of officer Ernest Ferguson. He had been involved in three use-of-force incidents at his previous corrections officer job at the Coastal State Prison before being hired by Savannah. (Savannah Morning News)
  2. The Savannah Police Department has arrested Kwasi Perry, 32, for allegedly shooting a 13-year-old boy. The incident occurred on Jul. 20 on Pennsylvania Avenue. The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Perry has been charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children in the first degree. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The Savannah Downtown Business Association has released the design of its first To-Go Cup contest. Dana Richardson will have her design printed on thousands of to-go cups.
