Severe T-Storm Warning, Tornado Watch Issued For Chatham County

Impacts could include damaged trees and power lines.

SAVANNAH, GA — A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 2:15 p.m. Wednesday for Chatham County, according to the National Weather Service's Charleston, South Carolina, office.

The warning is also for Bryan, Liberty, McIntosh and Long counties. Interstate 95 between mile markers 50 and 84 are included.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 2 p.m. Wednesday for Chatham, inland Bryan, inland Long, Liberty, McIntosh, inland and tidal Berkeley and Charleston counties.

According to the weather service, severe thunderstorms were moving northeast at 50 mph near Screven to Hickox.

Impacts could include damaged trees and power lines, weather officials said.

In the case of a tornado, weather officials encourage moving to an interior room or the lowest floor of the building.
