1 Dead, 1 Injured In Cobb Stabbing Where Infant Was Killed

A man is facing murder and aggravated assault charges after a woman was fatally stabbed, and another was injured, in Cobb County.

SMYRNA, GA — A man is facing charges after police say two women were stabbed, one fatally, Friday at the same Circle 75 Parkway motel where an infant was shot to death earlier in the week.

Cobb County Police said the deadly stabbing happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 4900 block of Circle 75.

When they arrived, police found 45-year-old Atlanta resident Amatrian Hawkins suffering from multiple stab wounds. They also discovered a 19-year-old Atlanta resident suffering from a severe stab wound to her right hand, police said.

Both women were taken to a hospital for treatment; however, Hawkins died shortly after arrival to the hospital, police said. They added the second woman was in stable condition.

Police said suspect Frank Moore, 46, of Atlanta, fled the scene but was later arrested by Atlanta Police on charges of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. Police said Moore was known to the women.

The fatal stabbing came three days after a 9-month-old girl was shot to death Tuesday at the motel. Four people have reportedly been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting.

Motives have not been released in either incidents.
