4 Arrested In Infant's Shooting Death At Cobb Motel: Reports

Four people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 9-month-old girl at a Cobb County motel.

SMYRNA, GA — Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a 9-month-old girl Tuesday at a motel near Circle 75 Parkway, according to police and media reports.

Cobb County Police on Thursday said they arrested Camron C. Harris, 23, and charged him with tampering with evidence and giving false statements.

Anthony Smith was also charged in connection with the fatal shooting, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Cobb County Jail records showed Smith was charged with tampering with evidence.

Two other suspects, Ladarrius Brown and Jayvian Young, were arrested, as well, WSB-TV reported.

Jail records on Thursday showed Brown and Young are facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Officers responded to the shooting around 8 p.m. When they arrived, police said the child's mother told officers her daughter had been shot.

Police said the infant was "beyond lifesaving measures" and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not identified, and a motive in the shooting was not revealed.

All four arrestees are being held without bond, jail records showed.

"Other arrests are anticipated as detectives and officers are working diligently on bringing those responsible for this homicide to justice," police said in a statement on Thursday.
