Atlanta Braves Holding Tomahawk Team Tryouts

SMYRNA, GA -- Do you want to cheer on the Atlanta Braves? I mean, really cheer them on, like, professionally?

The Atlanta Braves are hosting auditions this week for the Tomahawk Team.

"The Tomahawk Team are high-energy, spirited individuals, with the ability to engage fans, work within a family environment and perform in front of large crowds," the team says on its website. "The Braves Tomahawk Team performs at all home games and many events throughout the community during non-game days."

The auditions will begin Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the team announced on its website. Tryouts will run through Wednesday.

On Thursday and Friday, the Heavy Hitters, billed as "the most exciting drumline in the Southeast," will hold tryouts as well.

Interested persons must bring their own sticks/mallets and straps.

To register for either the Tomahawk Team tryouts or Heavy Hitters, you must register and email braves.entertainment@braves.com with the following information:

• Do you currently reside in Georgia?

The squads will get back in touch with candidates on Saturday, the team said.
