Atlanta Braves To Reopen At 50 Percent Capacity Later This Month
Truist Park will welcome even more fans into its 41,000-seat stadium later this month, the Atlanta Braves announced Thursday.

COBB COUNTY, GA — More Atlanta Braves fans will be welcomed into Truist Park at the Braves' second home game later this month.
Seating capacity is set to expand from 33 percent to 50 percent for the Braves' second home game April 23, the team announced Thursday. The April 23 game kicks off a three-game series versus the Arizona Diamondbacks, followed by a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs from April 26-29.
“After reviewing our seating pods, we feel expanding capacity to 50 [percent] will still allow for our fans to be safely distanced from other seating pods,” said Derek Schiller, president and CEO of the Braves, in a statement. “As we previously mentioned we will review seating and make any necessary changes as the season progresses.”

The expanded seating capacity will not change the stadium's health and safety guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the team said. This includes requiring face masks when not actively eating or drinking, contactless ticketing and ordering, and enhanced sanitization throughout the ballpark.
Truist Park will first open at 33 percent capacity for the first Braves home game, scheduled for April 9 against the Philadelphia Phillies. This will be the first time baseball fans will be welcomed back to Truist Park since October 2019.

Braves Development Company CEO Mike Plant said at a Cobb County commissioners meeting last week that they plan to open at full capacity by June, contingent on the evolving pandemic and vaccine rollout.
