• Jaha Howard projected winner in State Senate District 35 special election runoff (11alive.com) — Smyrna voters are now represented by Jaha Howard, who is projected to win the special election runoff for Georgia State Senate District 35, which includes Smyrna, Vinings, Mableton and parts of Cobb and Fulton. The former Cobb school board member defeated ex-state Rep. Roger Bruce for the seat vacated when Jason Esteves launched his gubernatorial run.
