Cobb County Judge to Retire After 25 Years

Irma Glover will not seek re-election to the state court, but is seeking another senior judgeship, according to a report.

COBB COUNTY, GA -- A Cobb County judge who has spent more than 20 years on the job says she will not be running for re-election in 2016, a report says.

Judge Irma Glover, who has spent the last 5 of her 25 years at Cobb County State Court, wrote to the Marietta Daily Journal that she will not run for the position again when he term expires. Glover instead says she is seeking another appointment to a senior judgeship in the county.

With Glover’s letter, two state court judges have confirmed that they won’t be seeking re-election in 2016, leaving a field of six incumbents on the November ballot, the MDJ says.
