Cobb Young Professionals' Leadership Luncheon Series Continues

The Cobb Chamber’s Cobb Young Professionals (CYP) will host its next leadership luncheon on November 15 where Smyrna Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director, Brian Marcos will discuss the importance of defining leadership, the misconception of leading, and opportunities to leverage your influence when you lack authority.

Marcos began his career with the Smyrna Fire Department in 2006 and was appointed to Deputy Fire Chief in 2014 before his recent appointment to Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director. Marcos holds a Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFO) from the Commission on Professional Credentialing, is a Certified Emergency Manager, a Georgia Certified Paramedic, and he is a Georgia Smoke Diver.
He currently serves as the Georgia State Director for the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, President of the United Leadership Program, and is the Area 7 District Vice President for the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb (2017) and is serving as the 2022 Co-Vice Chair. He completed the Executive Leadership Program for Manager and Directors through Kennesaw State University (KSU).

In 2020, he was named the Chief Fire Officer of the Year by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. That same year, he was named one of Cobb Life Magazines “20 under 40”, as well as one of the 50 Most Influential Hispanics in Georgia by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
