ATLANTA -- A tractor trailer carrying live cattle overturned on I-285 eastbound in Cobb County Monday morning, causing major traffic delays as officials tried to wrangle the cows to safety before they waded onto the highway. The accident happened when the truck overturned on the exit 22/New Northside Drive entrance ramp, according to the Georgia DOT around 3 am.

While the DOT has not issued any statement as to how many cows escaped, Channel 2 reported that 89 cows were on the trailer, one has been killed, and about 70 remain on the loose.

It is unclear if the one cow that has been reported dead was killed in traffic.
