Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:
- The Cobb Law Library will be hosting a program about custody concerns on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The program will discuss the challenges of enforcing out-of-state orders, legitimation, and a minor's affidavit of custody election. The program is free and open to the public. It starts at 6:00 p.m. at Switzer Library in Marietta. (Cobb County Courier)
- Smyrna's ALDI store is hosting a hiring event next week from Sep. 12 through Sep. 18. The event is part of the grocery chain's National Hiring Week initiative. Participants will have the opportunity to interview on-site and job offers will be made the same day. The event will be at the ALDI location on Spring Rd in Smyrna. (Patch)
- A Cobb County resident is demanding answers after his dog died while being boarded at Best Friends Pet Hotel on Johnson Ferry Road. Chad Benton had boarded his two Affenpinschers while traveling to Hawaii for Memorial Day weekend. The dog died during “group play.” According to the provided necropsy report, the dog had severe bites on the ribs, spine, and throat. (11 Alive)

- Friends of Smyrna Library announces that Campbell High School Junior Blair B. is installing a series of 10 "Little Free Libraries" in Smyrna's city parks for his Eagle Scout project. Books are being provided by Friends of Smyrna Library. (Friends of Smyrna Library via Facebook)
