  1. Deputies Lossings and Hodgins were recognized as Cobb County's public safety officers of the year for going to the aid of their colleagues during an unexpected attack in September 2022. Deputies Koleski and Ervin Jr. were both injured and later died due to injuries when they were ambushed while serving a warrant. The two deputies honored received their recognition at the annual Law Day Luncheon. (11 Alive)
  2. One student was injured on Thursday evening after a group of students were shot at a Cobb County park. This has led to an ongoing investigation and officers have said they believe the incident in nearby Mableton to be isolated and not a threat to the public. The shooter has not yet been apprehended; anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  3. Cobb County Board of Commissioners is inviting the public to provide feedback on Cobb's draft strategic plan on May 9 and May 23. The board welcomes and encourages public input on the matter. To help the public with feedback, the plan is available to view here. (Cobb County)
