Dump Truck Overturns on I-75 North

A dump truck has overturned into the travel lanes on I-75 northbound north of North Marietta Parkway and south of Allgood Road, causing a traffic nightmare for commuters in Cobb County.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) says that the incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. and has left tons of dirt on the roadway, blocking the center and left lanes of travel. Crews are working to access the damage now and remove the vehicle and spillage.

Georgia DOT contractors actively work to open the lanes. An estimated time of clearance has yet to be determined. Motorists should seek alternate routes and avoid travel in this area.
