Duo Gets 8 Years for Cumberland Area Burglary
They face additional burglary charges in Fulton County.

Two men charged in multiple burglaries were convicted today of taking tools and other equipment from a maintenance building at the Post Crest Apartments near Cumberland Mall.
Lester Thompkins, 43, of Riverdale, and Fred Tony Green, 42, of Atlanta, took the items apartment complex on April 6, 2012, said Kim Isaza, the spokeswoman for Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds. The stolen items were later recovered at Thompkins’ Clayton County residence.
“An investigation by the Fulton County burglary task force has resulted in numerous counts pending against Mr. Thompkins and Mr. Green in Fulton County,” Assistant District Attorney John Pursley said in a statement. “This burglary just happened to be committed in Cobb County.”
Cobb Superior Court Judge Reuben Green sentenced both men to eight years in prison.
