Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

  1. Gasoline prices in Georgia have experienced a sudden surge, rising by six cents per gallon compared to last week. Drivers across the state are now paying an average of $3.26 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, with the average price per gallon in Cobb County hitting $3.291. According to AAA, the price increase may be a temporary change driven by higher post-4th of July holiday demand and decreasing supply. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. In case you missed it: the Vineyard Wine Market and the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation will host its Jazz Under the Gazebo Fundraising Event on Saturday, Aug. 26. From 7:00-10:00 p.m., head over to the Vineyard Wine Market in Smyrna Square to enjoy live music, wine and beer tastings, light fare, and raffles. All proceeds will support Smyrna's police and fire departments. Registration is available online. (Smyrna Public Safety Foundation)
  3. Can you and your family escape the library? Head over to the Smyrna Library on Friday, Jul. 14, Saturday, Jul. 15, or Monday, Jul. 17 to find out! Participants have 30 minutes to work together and solve the puzzle, leading to a surprise at the end. The summer reading program event is open to children aged 5+ and an accompanying adult; those interested must register for a timeslot in advance. (Smyrna Library)
