Hundreds Of Thousands Celebrate Braves World Series Parade

The Atlanta Braves' World Series parade took over Atlanta and Cobb County on Friday, with hundreds of thousands of people in attendance.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Atlanta Braves fans have waited for this moment, and it's finally here. The Braves took over downtown Atlanta and Cobb County for a two-part parade celebrating the World Series win, lasting nearly all day Friday — and Patch followed along live from Truist Park.

Hundreds of thousands lined the parade route outside the stadium, with as many as 2 million people attending the two-part parade throughout the day, paying tribute to the Braves for clinching the team's first World Series title in 26 years Tuesday against the Houston Astros. The last time the Braves won was in 1995, when they defeated the Cleveland Indians in six games.

And now, the team is here to party with Braves Country.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also made an appearance during the post-parade speeches and celebration at Truist Park.

“On behalf of the city of Atlanta, thank you, thank you, thank you,” Bottoms said to the Braves. “We are so proud to call you our home team.”

The festivities began around noon with a two-part parade starting in the city of Atlanta that paused to travel to Cobb County before picking up on Cobb Parkway at the corner of Riverwood Parkway and culminating at Circle 75 Parkway.

More than 100,000 people were outside the Battery near the stadium after 2 p.m.

As members of the Atlanta Braves cheered from double-decker buses, the streets filled with confetti. The parade concluded before 3:10 p.m. as it traveled up the Cobb Parkway to Truist Park.
