🌱 Movie Night In Riverview Park + McTeacher's Night

Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

1. The City of Smyrna is hosting a movie night in Riverview Park on Saturday. The movie will be Tesla and it will be screened at the park's amphitheater. Participants are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets since amphitheater seating space is limited. The movie will begin at dusk (around 8:00 p.m.) (City of Smyrna)
2. Local McDonald's restaurants in the metro Atlanta area will be participating in McTeacher's night. The special event will run between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. from Sep. 15 through Sep. 28. The Smyrna location on Spring Road will be donating 10 percent of all sales to Argyle Elementary School and Pickett's Mill Elementary School. Teachers will be at the location greeting students, parents, and school supporters. (Atlanta Daily)
3. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has decided to table trash service code amendments. The decision was made on Tuesday through a 4-1 vote by the Board. The Board will review the code amendments in January. Some Cobb Commissioners do not want to amendments to be reviewed again at all. (East Cobb News)

• The Smyrna Public Library's Youth Services Desk will be celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day on Monday, Sep. 19. Participants will be able to able to make treasure maps and costumes are optional. (City of Smyrna)
• The next Food Truck Tuesday is scheduled for Sep. 20 at Taylor-Brawner Park at 5:00 p.m. Consider riding your bike or walking to the event since parking will be limited. (City of Smyrna)
