Movies by Moonlight, Pool Party, Teasley Beautification Day

Looking for family-friendly activities around Smyrna and Vinings? How about a pool party today, and an outdoor movie over the weekend?

The Smyrna Public Library is hosting a Summer Reading Pool Party tonight from 7:30 to 9 at Tolleson Pool located at 3590 King Springs Rd, Smyrna. The event is open to all participating Summer Reading Program families. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and be sure to bring your reading log.

Gather the family to enjoy Escape From Planet Earth on a big screen in the open air at "Movies By Moonlight" at Taylor-Brawner Park Saturday evening.

Movie will begin at dark. Carpool and walking are encouraged as parking is limited. For more information, call Parks & Recreation at 770-431-2842.

Also on Saturday, a Teasley Primary Beautification Day will be held at the former Brown Elementary facilities, where Teasley's kindergarten and first grade students will be housed at next year as Teasley Elementary's main Campus undergoes renovations.

The school's PTA is hosting the event, and activities will include spreading pine straw, weeding, planting flowers and more. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, clippers, weed eaters, yard waste bags, shovels, etc.
