  1. There is a dangerous new drug circulating in Cobb County, according to the Marietta Cobb Smyrna Organized Crime Task Force. The drug is purple and is known as "Purple Heroin" and "Rainbow Fentanyl" on the streets. The drug can come in a variety of bright colors, shapes, and sizes, according to the DEA. Initial reports indicate that the drug is being targeted at young adults and children. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Access Atlanta has recognized Smyrna Market Village in its recent list of underrated town squares in metro Atlanta. According to the list, Smyrna Market Village is known for its ample green space, restaurants, bars, and shopping.   3. Two Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputies were shot and killed on Thursday evening. The deputies were serving a warrant to a Marietta-area home when they were abruptly shot and killed. The department responded to the home and a standoff occurred that lasted nearly four hours. The deputies' names have not been released. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
