New Restaurant Coming to Former Boca Location

The owners said Mezza Luna Trattoria should open in September.

The owners of in Vinings are bringing a new Italian restaurant to Smyrna, but co-owner Jasmin Reyes-Scott emphasized that it won’t be Taverna 2.

Reyes-Scott said that Taverna’s food is Tuscan-influenced, while the cuisine at Mezza Luna Trattoria will be inspired by Puglia, a region in southern Italy.

“Tuscany is more heavier meats and wild game where Puglia is more about seafood,” she said. “It’s on the Adriatic Coast. If you think of the heel of the boot it’s the heel.”
