Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:
- The Cobb County community gathered on Thursday afternoon to honor the life of fallen Cobb County Sherriff’s Office deputy Marshall Samuel Ervin Jr. The community had gathered on Wednesday to honor fellow deputy Koleski. Residents lined the streets at Dallas Highway and Poplar Springs for the funeral procession. Flags were also lowered to half-staff to honor the deputies. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- The next Smyrna City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in A. Max Bacon City Hall in the Council Chambers. The meeting will be shared online through a livestream. Click for the link. (City of Smyrna)
- The Cobb County School District honored 165 staff members who retired this year. The district usually hosts a luncheon to honor retirees, but those plans were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
