One Killed in Cobb County Wreck

Neither the driver nor the passenger in the wrecked vehicle were wearing seat belts, police said.

A Powder Springs man is dead after the car he was driving left a Cobb County roadway and ended up on its roof on Saturday morning, Cobb County police said Saturday night.

Deontay T. Webb, 25, was driving a green 1998 BMW 328i north on Barrett Parkway just before Macland Road at 3:36 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The BMW rotated and crossed over into oncoming traffic before overturning and leaving the western edge of the roadway.

Neither Webb nor his passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, and both were rushed to local hospitals, police said. Webb was pronounced dead at WellStar Cobb Hospital, while passenger Ryan L. Daniels of Powder Springs was treated for minor injuries at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
