Pedestrian Hit By SUV While Crossing Vinings Roadway Injured

The pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk when they were hit and propelled before landing onto the street, Cobb County Police say.

VININGS, GA — A pedestrian who was hit while crossing Cumberland Parkway on Tuesday evening is suffering serious injuries, Cobb County Police said Wednesday.

The person was crossing Cumberland at Beech Haven Trail around 6:15 p.m. when they were hit by a 2019 Nissan Rogue that was simultaneously turning left from Beech Haven onto Cumberland westbound, police said.

The pedestrian was walking east in a marked crosswalk at the time, but was propelled westerly before landing onto Cumberland, police said.

The driver stopped and was not injured in the crash, police said. However, the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The person's condition was unknown Wednesday, and police did not say if the driver will face charges.
