Rain Cancels Lane Shift Plan On Windy Hill Road

Due to expected rain from Tropical Storm Fred, the lane shift process on Windy Hill Road in Smyrna is put on hold.

SMYRNA, GA — The lane shift on Windy Hill Road, scheduled to begin Monday at 7 a.m., has been canceled due to expected rain from Tropical Storm Fred, city leaders announced Monday morning.

Traffic engineers were scheduled to shift the traffic lanes on Windy Hill Road between South Cobb Drive and Atlanta Road Monday morning as part of the Windy Hill Road project. But Tropical Storm Fred has different plans.

The storm is expected to bring up to 5 inches of rain in most parts of Georgia, including Cobb County, according to the National Weather Service.
