Red Bull Truck Jams Historic Covered Bridge For Hours
The delivery truck was too big to fit through the Covered Bridge, but the driver tried anyway. Turns out Red Bull does not give you wings.

SMYRNA, GA — You know Red Bull's catchphrase: "Red Bull gives you wings."
Wings would've been helpful for one Red Bull delivery driver Wednesday afternoon. The driver tried to drive through the historic Covered Bridge in Smyrna, even though warning signs and devices indicated the truck would not fit.
As a result, the truck slammed into the hanging warning beam and knocked them over onto the truck. The driver was not injured, but the vehicle has "substantial damage," Cobb County spokesperson Ross Cavitt told Patch.

Cobb Department of Transportation crews said the beam is still intact, so they were able to reattach it. The driver will face charges, as there are multiple clearance warning signs and bars, Cavitt said.
Cobb DoT officials confirmed the warning signs, devices and beams were functioning at the time of the incident. Cavitt said there have been "very few" incidents like this on the bridge.

The county will seek reimbursement from the driver's insurance for any repair costs, according to Cavitt. There does not appear to be damage to the bridge itself.
