- The man accused of committing a deadly mass shooting at Northside Hospital in Atlanta was apprehended behind an apartment complex in Cobb County. Deion Patterson, 24, is accused of fatally shooting one woman and injuring four others. The tip that led to Patterson's arrest came from a woman who lives at the apartment building and had a hunch about the pool house at the complex. A reporter with Channel 2 spoke with Patterson's parents who said he became distressed when doctors refused to prescribe him Ativan, an anti-anxiety medication. Patterson has been charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault. (WSB-TV)
- Georgia utility regulators heard from residents seeking relief from energy rate increases. The Georgia Public Service Commission is set to vote this month on a fuel rate case that could increase the average household energy bill by $16 per month. The potential rate hike is one in a series of increases that could bring an average household's energy expenditure up by $500 a year in 2025. Sarah Adams, Georgia Power's vice president and comptroller, attributed the rate increases to political unrest and supply chain issues. (Cobb County Courier)
