Smyrna Residents Can Recycle Christmas Trees This Saturday

On Jan.7, city is once again participating in the 'Bring One For the Chipper' program.

SMYRNA, GA -- With the holidays over, you may be wondering what to do with that Christmas tree. The city of Smyrna is participating in "Bring One For the Chipper," a program that allows residents to dispose of their own ferns by recycling them.

The initiative, a partnership between Keep Smyrna Beautiful and Home Depot, will take place Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cumberland Parkway store.

To help with the recycling, residents are asked to remove all ornaments, bases -- and please no wreathes and garland. The Smyrna Recycling Center at 3475 Lake Drive is accepting old light strings.
