Smyrna Birthday Fireworks Show Rescheduled

The Smyrna Birthday Celebration fireworks show was canceled because of weather, but has been rescheduled for September.

The Smyrna Birthday Celebration may have been canceled Saturday due to bad weather, but the city will still get a party.

City officials announced Saturday upon canceling the 140th birthday celebration that the fireworks show planned for the event has been rescheduled to coincide with the 2012 Taste of Smyrna. The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Smyrna’s Village Green.

Admission to Taste of Smyrna is free and samples from local restaurants like , and Kenny’s Key Lime Pie will be available for purchase. In addition to the fireworks show there will be live music and inflatable slides and obstacle courses for the kids.
