- Starting May 1, Smyrna's sanitation and recycling collection schedules will change to enhance efficiency and make holiday adjustments easier, with all curbside trash and recycling collection taking place Tuesday to Friday and yard waste collection on Monday. The new schedule creates fewer holiday changes, and those affected are households with trash days on Monday, who will have their collection day moved to Tuesday, while Tuesday's collection day will now be on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday trash collection days will remain unchanged. (City of Smyrna, GA Government)
- Grady Health System is addressing the increased demand for health care resources in south Fulton County by opening two new outpatient centers in Atlanta: the Lee + White Outpatient Center and the Cascade Outpatient Center. These neighborhoods have had population growth but lacked access to primary and specialty care historically. Both centers will offer primary care and specialty services, including cardiology, HIV services, mammography, rehabilitation, x-rays, lab work, and a pharmacy, with the Cascade location opening in July and the Lee + White location opening later in the year. - Thrive Sweet Auburn Center is a housing facility built to house individuals, families, and veterans dealing with homelessness. The one-stop-shop facility was a collaborative project between Mercy Housing Southeast and Project Community Connections Inc. and features 117 affordable units with several on-site resources, including job referrals and access to medical care. The center is expected to be a model for other organizations in the fight to end homelessness. (WABE 90.1 FM)

Harvey faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the Feb. 17 shooting, in which Kolb was shot and killed in front of his 10-month-old daughter. - A new study by Bumper.com found that electric vehicle ‘charging deserts’ – places where charging stations and ports are in short supply – stretch across states, largely divided by economic and racial lines.
