Smyrna-Vinings Election Results
Two races impacting Smyrna-Vinings are headed for the August 21 runoff election.
Here's a look at the results for primary races impacting Smyrna-Vinings. as neither candidate received 50 percent plus one vote. Lee snagged just under 40 percent of the votes while Byrne received a little more than 25 percent. The winner of the runoff will be the next chairman, since no Democratic candidate filed to run for the countywide office.
Democrat candidates Diana Eckles and Michael Smith will also face off in the runoff later this month as well. Michael Smith leads with just over 40 percent of the votes while Smith has just under 35 percent. Whoever wins the runoff will compete against Phil Daniell for the District 41 State Representative seat as he had no Republican challengers.
Cobb County will hold its runoff election Aug. 21 with the general election on Nov. 6.
