Georgia Beer Day is set for Saturday to celebrate the craft beer industry, and one Smyrna brewery is among the 70 participating this year.

SMYRNA, GA — Calling all craft beer lovers: Georgia Beer Day is back, and one Smyrna brewery is among the 70 participating this year.

Georgia Craft Brewers Guild puts on Georgia Beer Day every year to not only highlight Georgia's vibrant craft beer industry, but to raise awareness and money for the industry.

Reformation Brewery, located at 6255 Riverview Road, Building 4000, Suite 200 in Smyrna, is celebrating the unofficial holiday this year. In Cobb County, four Marietta and two Kennesaw breweries are also participating, as well as the Canton and Woodstock locations of Reformation Brewery.

"Georgia Beer Day is a special moment for all of Georgia's independent craft breweries in our journey to set beer free and celebrate the enormous impact we have on our local communities throughout Georgia," Reformation Brewery CEO/Founder, Spencer Nix told Patch. "Reformation Brewery exists to liberate moments that matter to the Reformer in everyone, and this is such a moment for our industry. We have come so far, yet we still have so much to accomplish to reform our communities for good."

All participating breweries will sell a limited edition, full-color, 16 oz. collector's pint glass. For every sale of a pint glass, $1 will go back to the GCBG.

Designed by artist Ali Lamoureux, the theme of the 2022 commemorative glass is "From the Blue Ridge Mountains to Driftwood Beach," two of the state's most recognizable naturescapes.

Each participating brewery has the freedom to choose how they celebrate Georgia Beer Day, so check your favorite brewery's website or social media pages to see what they're planning.
