🌱 Cobb County Student Struck By Vehicle + Culture & Spirit Festival

Here are the top three stories in Smyrna and Vinings today:

  1. A Cobb County high school student was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday morning while walking to school. The student was attempting to cross Old 41 Highway in front of North Cobb High School around 8:00 a.m. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and will likely make a full recovery. Anybody with further information is asked to contact the Acworth Police Department. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Hundreds of residents are paying respects to two Cobb County Sherriff's Office deputies during their funeral services this week. Deputies Marshall Ervin Jr. and Jonathan Koleski were killed on Sep. 8 while executing an arrest warrant in Marietta. The Cobb County Sherriff's Foundation has presented the deputies' families with $10,000 checks and will continue to pass along community donations. Click to contribute. (WSB Radio)
  3. The Culture & Spirit Festival is coming to downtown Smyrna on Oct. 8. The festival will begin at 11:00 a.m. with bluegrass performances. There will be designated locations for residents to set up chairs since reserved tables are currently sold out. The fireworks show is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. (City of Smyrna)
