South Cobb Library To Close For Major Renovation Project
The temporary closure begins Monday, Aug. 2 and is slated to last for three months.

MABLETON, GA — The South Cobb Regional Library will temporarily close its doors for three months starting Monday while it undergoes a "major renovation project," according to a news release.
The renovation project includes the following interior and exterior repairs, according to the Cobb County Property Management Department:
Interior

- substantial plumbing repairs to correct issues with the existing sewer line
- public restroom improvements
- installation of new flooring, tile, partitions and other fixtures
Exterior
- restoration of the site's retention pond
- landscaping improvements
- retrofitting parking lot lights to LED fixtures
"Overall, the project is designed to enhance the functionality and appearance of the public facility as a safe and engaging community space," Cobb County officials said in a news release.

The library closure is scheduled for three months, with an anticipated opening date of Monday, Nov. 1.
Library patrons that have placed holds for pickup at South Cobb Regional Library will be able to get their reserved materials at the Sweetwater Valley Library in the Threadmill Complex, located at 5000 Austell-Powder Springs Road, Suite 100 in Austell. Other nearby libraries include Powder Springs, Lewis A. Ray and Vinings.
South Cobb library staff members will be temporarily reassigned to libraries throughout the system, the news release said.
