Atlanta Steam Ready to Rumble in Gwinnett
The women's football team has its home opener Saturday.

Gwinnett, women's pro football officially arrives in the area Saturday April 13).
The Atlanta Steam has its home opener in the Gwinnett Arena (game time, 8 p.m.) when it plays the Omaha Heart. Both are first-year teams in the Legends Football League. The league was called the Lingerie Football League until a recent rebranding that included "performance wear" for uniforms.
For the Steam, it also will be a chance for redemption. Atlanta lost its season opener 48-0 at Jacksonville in March.

According to an article on lfl.com, the Steam players may have felt overwhelmed in the opener.
Quarterback Brittany Morgan said in the article, “The game was a challenge, but it allowed us to take in the speed of the game and the intensity.” She went on to say, “We have to get back to the drawing board.”

However, another article on lfl.com made reference to a "lack of enthusiasm" by Atlanta in its opener.
In the LFL, football is seven-on-seven, with no kickoffs or field goals.
