First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Epiphany program, a faith-based social entrepreneurship incubator supporting startups tackling today’s most pressing challenges. Epiphany is an evergreen initiative that equips entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social issues with funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance. If you are an emerging founder with a vision to address societal challenges often overlooked by traditional markets, Epiphany offers the resources needed to help your venture grow. Examples of qualifying ventures include businesses that employ formerly incarcerated individuals or adults with developmental challenges, as well as enterprises offering services such as coding training for refugees or mechanical skills development in low-income communities. Since its launch, Epiphany has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants and supported multiple successful ventures, including Refuge Coffee Co., PadSplit, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods. Modeled in part after the format of Shark Tank, the program provides early-stage entrepreneurs with capital, mentorship, and access to a network focused on impact areas such as hunger, homelessness, housing, refugee resettlement, racial equity, poverty, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. An outreach program and shelter for homeless youth is in need after moving from Lithonia to a spacious new facility in Tucker. Over the last several days, Young People Matter (YPM) has moved into a former women's outreach center on Cowan Road. The location has just about everything YPM could ask for: it's spacious inside, has a great back yard, and lots of potential. But it also has scars from a break-in, which happened months before YPM moved in. The thieves caused lots of water damage, which has been repaired, and more. In addition to the heating and cooling systems, the perpetrators made off with the kitchen appliances, and copper pipes, Joye said. "They took everything including the kitchen sink," said Simone Joye, executive director of the nonprofit <a href="http://www.ypmatlanta.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">YPM,</a> which provides a place for homeless, runaway and street youth. "We need a stove, a refrigerator, a kitchen sink." The group could also use donations of paint and landscaping help, she said. If you can assist, call YPM at 770-912-2972.
